Experience 3: Language delay

For this experience, you don’t need any materials.

First, say something (for example, facts about yourself).

Now, say those things again; however, you cannot use a certain letter (for example, A, E, or I).

Autism experience and how you can help

Autism experience:
When you couldn’t say the certain letter, you had to slow down and think through what you were saying. This took more time than when you didn’t have to think it all through.

Some people with autism take longer to say a sentence and communicate what they are thinking.

How you can help:
You can help those with autism with this by just being patient as they talk and put their thoughts into words.
