Experience 2: Loud noises

For this experience, you need the headphones, a device that has access to the internet, a pencil, and paper.

First, have someone tell you to write something on the paper.

Now, put on a video of loud noises and people talking and wear the headphones. Now, have someone tell you what you do with the paper.

Autism experience and how you can help

Autism experience:
When wearing the headphones, the noises are so loud and overwhelming that you probably won’t be able to understand what the person is telling you to do.

Some people with autism get overwhelmed when there are too many noises around them which causes difficulties when trying to get directions or do a task.

How you can help:
You can help those with autism by understanding that they are processing the sounds around them, causing them to not understand what you are saying. You can instead use body language. Things like nodding, pointing to something that can explain it, or writing down the instructions.
